This is nothing less than a path breaking new approach to develop and strengthen leadership and interpersonal communication. Horses allow us to see leadership principles in a new light.

Conceptually, however, this approach relates to the Research and Literature on Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership.

In human sub consciousness horses represent dignity, honor, beauty, strength, power and endurance. Horses, like wild animals, have a very keen sense of intuition and a great ability to sense what is not spoken. Because of this they can often see things about us that we may not even be aware of. They are great teachers for us in the domain of intuition and intention. No wonder then that, according to Carl Gustav Jung, the horse represents the intuitive, the feminine, and the creative. As flee animal, the horse flees from whatever emanates stress and aggression, but also uncertainty.

Having developed skills to recognize their leaders through 50 millions of years, horses insist on knowing who is leading each step of the way. This makes them excellent coaches for training team and leadership competencies. As horses don't care about a person's title of authority or their social position, their feedback is both genuine and without hidden agendas.

To convince a horse to stay with us without using physical instruments, we need to use calm mind craft. But calm mind craft resides only in persons with a great deal of empathy and with the ability to listen and to receive communication.
In our hectic world we are too busy speaking and far too little interested in listening – thus risking to speak to ourselves.

Furthermore, successful communication with a horse – not to be confused with horse riding, which is of course a completely different thing – needs a great portion of intuition and creativity from the human being.

Therefore, learning to communicate with a horse becomes a metaphor for how we are leading our life and work. Just like people, horses respond to our leadership style, providing us with honest and clear feedback about our current strengths of leadership and how to improve it.

Horses easily disentangle the mismatch between where we say we are going and what we are actually doing to get there. They gently encourage us into new insights and new ways of interacting with others and ourselves. Their generosity of spirit and deep patience allows us to refine our leadership style and develop new skills.
